Ten Hag raises the level of Manchester United, strong all over the sheet.
Eric ten Hag performance as Manchester United beat Manchester City in the Premier League over the weekend. Despite having already lost in the first game.
The Red Devils were beaten 6-3 by City in their first meeting at the Etihad Stadium last year. But in their most recent game on Saturday, they were able to get their revenge with a 2-1 win at Old Trafford, with only one point left to hijack second-placed leaders.
Neville spoke about the team’s form today and praised Ten Hag’s ability to transform the team so quickly. Including some great signings in the summer that turned them into a stronger team than ever.
“If seven or eight months ago you told me that United had a back four, Wan-Bissaka came on with Luke Shaw at centre-back, while Malacia played at left-back and Dan. The front three are Bruno, Martial and Rashford, and I’d say they’re in trouble.
“Erik ten Hag is doing a great job. He still has a team that, on paper, is below par. But he was able to get all the potential he needed out of those players.
“Adding Casemiro to the midfield is an important signing. And it was a good decision by Ten Hag to bring Fred on [against City], a game he used at the Etihad earlier in the season. McTominay, Eriksen and Fernandes in midfield. So to add another player who is as strong defensively as Fred is a great piece.”
